Garuda Indonesia will open chartered flights from 10 Chinese cities to Manado and Bali in Indonesia During this Summer Vacation, from July through August 2015, Garuda Indonesia will operate regular charter flights to Bali from nine cities in China, besides its regular flights from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Altogether, over 51,840 tourists are expected to fill the charter flights to spend their holidays on the beautiful island of Bali, said Garuda’s Vice President for China, I Wayan Subagia to Antara News in Beijing on Tuesday 30 June.
The originating 9 Cities in China are: Zhengzhou, Xian, Nanjing, Nan Chang, Tai-Yuan, Shenyang, Jinan, Kunking, and Chongqing.
The charter series follows Garuda’s successful Charters during the Chinese New Year season that lasted from 29 January through 3 March 2015, when Garuda Indonesia carried 53,982 tourists from 10 cities in China.
When asked why are the charters to Bali only, VP Garuda explained that althoughGaruda continues to promote other Indonesian destinations like Lombok, Makassar and Manado, however, for now it seems that the market still prefers to travel to Bali.
Besides the seasonal charters, Garuda Indonesia continues to operate its regular flights which are 4 flights weekly between Beijing-Jakarta, 7 flights weekly between Shanghai-Jakarta, 7 times weekly between Guangzhou – Jakarta and 3 flights weekly between Beijing-Bali.
With the chartered flights, Garuda Indonesia will hopefully see its load factor increase two-folds, he said. China is a potential market, with almost 100 million of its population traveling abroad every year, he said.
