Papua Paradise Resort lies along the pristine shoreline of the uninhabited island of Birie, Raja Ampat. The island is teeming with exotic bird life, lush jungle foliage, and a spectacular array of fauna, while the reefs in the surrounding area offer world class diving. Built in traditional style, Papua Paradise offers an exceptionally high standard of comfort and service. On the north-west side of the island, there are 16 traditionally built bungalows on stilts over the coral reef. Each spacious bungalow has its own massive terrace, on which guests can enjoy the slight breeze and the glamorous sunset lying in a hammock. Each bungalow features its own indoor bathroom with eco warm water, mosquito nets, pedestal fan, long chairs and hammock. Fresh water runs in the bathrooms. Drinking water is provided to guests from gallons. Air-conditioning is naturally done by the slight ocean breeze and the sun heats up the water at daytime for a nice hot-water shower after a long diving day.
The sea-view restaurant is a perfect place to try delicious Indonesian meals prepared by local staff using ingredients (fresh water spinach, juicy mango, sweet banana, very hot chilli and fish) bought mostly from the nearby village or collected from the little garden of the resort or purchased in Sorong. The menu also contains European and international dishes. The resort also features a library,wifi, LCD TV and a bar.
Daily transfers between Sorong and the resort can be arranged at extra cost.
Staff will meet you at Sorong airport and accompany you to the harbour for transfer on the resort’s private speedboat. Transfers from Sorong to the resort are scheduled once daily for 2.00pm. If guests arrive earlier in Sorong, they will be taken to a hotel lobby where they can refresh, have breakfast and wait comfortably until the boat departure. Check out from the resort to Sorong in the morning is based on earliest guest flight departure. The boat transfer takes up to 2 hours one way, depending on weather and sea conditions.
Among diving and relaxing, the nearby smaller and bigger islands and wild jungle forests give the opportunity to other activities as well. Boat trips can be organised locally to the stunning mushroom islands, bat cave, traditional cemetery; visit the most beautiful birds of paradise or climb up to a breathtaking 60 metres high waterfall that should not be missed out.
