Located in the stunning Karimunjawa archipelago, amongst pristine waters and powdery white sand, Kura Kura is alone on its own exclusive island, Menjawakan. The hotel underwent a serious makeover a few years back, and is now even more splendid and fabulous than ever, featuring well-appointed cottages and villas that provide guests with incredible panoramas of the surrounding coastal scene. The restaurant serves up fresh, succulent seafood straight out of the waters that lap onto the tropical shores. Guests who enjoy sunset cruises and snorkeling with vibrant sea life will be in their own personal heaven here.
There are four different room types to choose from at the Kura Kura Resort, some sporting private pools and the most breathtaking picturesque views imaginable. All rooms come with air conditioning, colonial mosquito net, ceiling fan, king-size bed, shower, mini-bar, hairdryer, safety box.
The Kura Kura resort has its very own turtle sanctuary, as well as some watersports equipment available for guests to enjoy the beautiful, tranquil, tropical surroundings.
The Turtle Sanctuary
The resort takes its name from the Indonesian word for turtle, Kura Kura, so-named because of the plethora of sea turtles who populate the island with their eggs. Though the island’s turtles diminished significantly in numbers for a while, under the resort’s new ownership, a special sanctuary was created to welcome them back to a nursery dedicated just to them. The turtles now enjoy a protected habitat where they can grow and thrive before being released back into the sea.
Guests wanting to explore the resort’s natural surroundings can enjoy the complimentary use of kayaks, paddle boats, and snorkel equipment provided just for their use.
Restaurant and Bar
The resort’s elegant restaurant effortlessly blends contemporary style with traditional local elements. Fresh, succulent local seafood is the main fare on offer here, with a chef creating bespoke culinary feasts according to individual tastes, as well as a variety of a la carte options. Guests may choose to dine indoors, or al fresco on the restaurant’s open-air patio, overlooking the hotel’s well-appointed pool.
