Jamie’s Italian to open in Bali

British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is bringing his chain of family-friendly Italian restaurants, Jamie’s Italian, to Bali, Indonesia. Jamie’s Italian Kuta Beach is expected to open in 2015.


Jamie’s Italian started out as a partnership with his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, in Oxford, England in 2008. The chain now has more than 40 outlets worldwide. The menu at Jamie’s Italian is inspired by tradition, but with Jamie’s own twists. The chain has begun to identify suitable producers and suppliers for its Kuta Beach outlet.

Jamie’s Italian makes its pasta fresh every morning, and its restaurants usually feature an antipasti station, open kitchen, and an alfresco dining area. According to a spokesperson, the design of the Bali outpost “is expected to reflect its unique, stunning location, which is a real magnet for locals and tourists”.

The first Jamie’s Italian opened in 2008 in Oxford, England, a partnership between Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo. There are now more than 40 outlets around the world.


Jamie’s Italian menu is inspired by tradition and offers original takes of rustic dishes found all over Italy – from antipasti planks to gorgeous pastas, there is something for everyone. Every Jamie’s Italian also makes full use of the region’s rich variety of fresh, sustainable ingredients and work has begun to identify the best producers and suppliers for Jamie’s Italian Kuta Beach.

Jamie’s Italian will probably be a crowd-puller when it opens for, as Jamie Oliver says: “Beautiful food and some really amazing cocktails coupled with sun, sand and sea – what’s not to love?”

There are now more than 40 Jamie’s Italian outlets around the world.
